Dentists in Edmonton
To have a good dental health, you have to take care of your gums and teeth in a right manner. The best way to have a healthy check on the mouth is to visit one of the best dentists in Edmonton on regular basis. This will ensure that you are able to keep a right track on many dental diseases that can be potentially dangerous in the longer run. Over the time, the teeth tend to develop plaque deposits and stains on them. If you are brushing your teeth twice a day with the right technique, then you will be able to keep most of the dental problems at bay.

How to Keep Plaque Away?

The best way to keep the teeth safe from the plaque is by brushing the teeth twice daily. Always make sure that you are using a good quality soft bristle brush and always go for the brand that is approved by the dental association. Brushing removes food particles and deposits from the gaps of the teeth and ensures that your gums are clean too. Always buy toothpaste that has a recommended amount of fluoride. Edmonton dentist recommended you to brush with light strokes to avoid damaging the gums. The brush should be replaced once in every two months.

How to Brush Your Teeth in a Right Manner?

Brushing the teeth plays a vital role in the oral health. If you are not doing it in a right manner, then it is going to have an ill effect on the gums. If you don’t have the right idea, always consult one of the good dentists in Edmonton who will be able to guide you in a right manner.

  • When you brush the teeth, always hold the toothbrush in a right angle. An angle of 45 degrees is the best against the gums.
  • Ensure that you are brushing the inner surface of the teeth along with the outer one.
  • Brush in back and forth strokes and always use a gentle hand when you brush your teeth. Too much pressure may cause the gums to bleed.
  • The places that are hard to reach can be cleaned using the tip of the brush.
  • Brush your tongue using the toothbrush with light pressure to remove the deposits. This also freshens up your breath.
Flossing the Teeth

  • Take about 10-15 inches of floss and circle it around you r fingers for the right grip.
  • Clean the gaps of the teeth using the floss with gentle motions by taking the part of the floss between your forefinger and thumbs.
  • Make sure that you are not applying too much pressure while flossing as it will pierce the gums causing them to bleed. Slide the floss between the space of teeth and gums and clean using light strokes.
  • Repeat the flossing in each of the tooth and the gums to get all the food particles trapped in between the tooth and the supporting gum.
